1. Poliomyelitis virus antigen Type I has been identified in the cytoplasm as well as in the nucleus of monkey kidney cells by means of the fluorescent antibody technic. The cytoplasm appeared to be the first location of the antigen formation. 2. Immunocytochemical studies of infected cells revealed a characteristic sequence of events.
