This paper describes the visualization of the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor by ligand blotting. Preparations of detergent-solubilized membranes are subjected to one- or two-dimensional sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, after which the proteins are transferred to nitrocellulose paper.
