PURPOSE To investigate how temporal processing is altered in myopia and during myopic progression. METHODS In backward visual masking, a target's visibility is reduced by a mask presented quickly after the target. Thirty emmetropes, 40 low myopes, and 22 high myopes aged 18 to 26 years completed location and resolution masking tasks.
