An electrical plug and socket connection which has an axially symmetrical plug body, a central aperture in the plug body for receiving a multi-conductor electrical cable and a cylindrical extension secured to the plug body in alignment with the axis thereof which defines a stop surface at the end thereof remote from the plug body.
