  • Human cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a major cause of disease and transplant dysfunction in lung transplant recipients. Simultaneous emergence of more than one CMV-genotype can occur, and appears to be disadvantageous for the patient. In this study, the dynamics of individual CMV-genotypes in blood and lung was assessed within mixed CMV-genotype populations emerging after lung transplantation.
