We discuss the physics prospects of photon-induced measurements using the high-granularity FoCal detector to be installed at the ALICE experiment, covering the pseudorapidity interval 3.4 ≤ η ≤ 5.8. This new detector, scheduled to be in operation from Run 4, will explore the small Bjorken-x physics region in an unprecedented way. In this region the gluon saturation phenomenon is expected to be dominant. Combined with the rest of the ALICE subdetectors, including the zero degree calorimenters…

Exclusive photoproduction of J/ψ mesons at HERA

The exclusive photoproduction of J/ψ mesons, γp→J/ψp, has been studied in ep collisions with the ZEUS and H1 detectors at HERA using the e+e− and μ+μ− decay modes. The total cross section has been

Azimuthal correlations within exclusive dijets with large momentum transfer in photon-lead collisions

The first measurement of the azimuthal angular correlations of exclusively produced events with two jets in photon-lead interactions at large momentum transfer is presented. Theoretical predictions

Coherent J/ photoproduction in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions at s NN = 2.76 TeV

The ALICE Collaboration has made the first measurement at the LHC of J /ψ photoproduction in ultra- peripheral Pb–Pb collisions at √ s NN = 2 . 76 TeV. The J /ψ is identified via its dimuon decay in

Dissociative production of vector mesons at electron-ion colliders

We present predictions for the exclusive and dissociative production of vector mesons off protons in an electron-ion collider. The computation is based on the energy-dependent hot spot model that has

Energy dependence of the proton geometry in exclusive vector meson production

The gluon radius of the proton is expected to increase at small gluon momentum fractions x , an effect which has hitherto not been considered in the dipole model framework. We investigate the energy

Measurement of exclusive Υ photoproduction from protons in p Pb collisions at s NN = 5.02 TeV.

The exclusive photoproduction of Υ ( nS ) meson states from protons, γ p → Υ ( nS ) p (with n = 1 , 2 , 3 ), is studied in ultraperipheral p Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair

Coherent J /ψ photoproduction in ultra-peripheral PbPb collisions at √ s NN = 2 . 76 TeV with the CMS experiment

: The cross section for coherent J/psi photoproduction accompanied by at least one neutron on one side of the interaction point and no neutron activity on the other side, X n 0 n , is measured with
