In this paper a vector control scheme of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for ship shaft generation systems is described. The paper deals mainly with ship shaft generator systems feeding an isolated load since for such systems the generated voltage must be regulated by the system itself and the control scheme is not trivial.
