Because vascular endothelial cell growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) are both involved in cellular growth and differentiation, we examined whether VEGF modifies TGF-beta signaling cascade in human umbilical cord vein endothelial cells (HUVEC).
