A clear signature of Zeeman split states crossing is observed in a Landau fan diagram of strained germanium two-dimensional hole gas. The underlying mechanisms are discussed based on a perturbative model yielding a closed formula for the critical magnetic fields. These fields depend strongly on the energy difference between the topmost and neighboring valence bands and are sensitive to the quantum well thickness, strain, and spin-orbit interaction. The latter is a necessary feature for the… Expand

Theory of hole-spin qubits in strained germanium quantum dots
We theoretically investigate the properties of holes in a Si$_{x}$Ge$_{1-x}$/Ge/ Si$_{x}$Ge$_{1-x}$ quantum well in a perpendicular magnetic field that make them advantageous as qubits, including aExpand
Hole Spin Qubits in Si FinFETs With Fully Tunable Spin-Orbit Coupling and Sweet Spots for Charge Noise
The strong spin-orbit coupling in hole spin qubits enables fast and electrically tunable gates, but at the same time enhances the susceptibility of the qubit to charge noise. Suppressing this noiseExpand

A single-hole spin qubit
TLDR
A single-hole spin qubit in germanium is established and the integration of single-shot readout and coherent control of a qubit made from a single hole spin is demonstrated, setting the benchmark for hole quantum dot qubits. Expand

Fast two-qubit logic with holes in germanium
TLDR
Planar germanium has thus matured within a year from a material that can host quantum dots to a platform enabling two-qubit logic, positioning itself as an excellent material for use in quantum information applications. Expand
