The Japan Integrated Staging score (JIS score), which combines the Child-Turcotte-Pugh classification and tumor-node-metastasis staging, has been proposed as a better prognostic staging system for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) than the Cancer of the Liver Italian Program (CLIP) scoring system.
