receptors by lung inflation are traditionally considered to account for the vagal control of respiratory rate and depth. A4ccordingly, we compared the effects of transient elimination of lung stretch on the pattern of breathing with the effects of complete vagal blockade (VB). Studies were performed on four conscious dogs with cervical vagal loops.
