We consider the relationship between the higher symmetry and the dynamical decomposition in supersymmetric gauge theory in various dimensions by studying the semi-classical potential energy. We observe that besides the scalar moduli we shall also include the field strength F0···d in the vacuum moduli in the 1+d dimensional theory with a Zp d-form symmetry. In gauge theory for charge-p matters with this symmetry, we find that the vacua decompose into p different universes at an intermediate…

Exact Results In Two-Dimensional (2,2) Supersymmetric Gauge Theories With Boundary
We compute the partition function on the hemisphere of a class of twodimensional (2,2) supersymmetric field theories including gauged linear sigma models. The result provides a general exact formula
Modified instanton sum in QCD and higher-groups
We consider the SU( N ) Yang-Mills theory, whose topological sectors are restricted to the instanton number with integer multiples of p . We can formulate such a quantum field theory maintaining
Two-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories with exceptional gauge groups
We apply the recent proposal for mirrors of nonabelian (2,2) supersymmetric two-dimensional gauge theories to make predictions for two-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories with exceptional gauge
Modifying the sum over topological sectors and constraints on supergravity
The standard lore about the sum over topological sectors in quantum field theory is that locality and cluster decomposition uniquely determine the sum over such sectors, thus leading to the usual
Linear Models of Supersymmetric D-Branes
We construct a class of supersymmetric boundary interactions in N=2 field theories on the half-space, which depend on parameters that are not at all renormalized or not renormalized in perturbation
Decomposition in diverse dimensions
This paper discusses the relationships between gauge theories defined by gauge groups with finite trivially-acting centers, and theories with restrictions on nonperturbative sectors, in two and four
Phases Of N=2 Theories In 1+1 Dimensions With Boundary
We study B-type D-branes in linear sigma models with Abelian gauge groups. The most important finding is the grade restriction rule. It classifies representations of the gauge group on the Chan-Paton
On D-branes from gauged linear sigma models
Abstract We study both A-type and B-type D-branes in the gauged linear sigma model by considering worldsheets with boundary. The boundary conditions on the matter and vector multiplet fields are
Supersymmetric Index Of Three-Dimensional Gauge Theory
In N=1 super Yang-Mills theory in three spacetime dimensions, with a simple gauge group $G$ and a Chern-Simons interaction of level $k$, the supersymmetric index $\Tr (-1)^F$ can be computed by
Coupling a QFT to a TQFT and duality
A bstractWe consider coupling an ordinary quantum field theory with an infinite number of degrees of freedom to a topological field theory. On $ \mathbb{R} $d the new theory differs from the original
