author={Karim Ahmed and Mohamed A. Ismail and Nagia M. Ghanem},
In this paper, we present VSCAN, a novel approach for generating static video summaries. This approach is based on a modified DBSCAN clustering algorithm to summarize the video content utilizing both color and texture features of the video frames. The paper also introduces an enhanced evaluation method that depends on color and texture features. Video Summaries generated by VSCAN are compared with summaries generated by other approaches found in the literature and those created by users…

VGRAPH: An Effective Approach for Generating Static Video Summaries

VGRAPH, a simple yet effective video summarization approach that utilizes both color and texture features, is presented, based on partitioning the video into shots by utilizing the color features, and extracting video key frames using a nearest neighbor graph built from the texture features of the shots representative frames.

Unsupervised Video Summarization via Dynamic Modeling-Based Hierarchical Clustering

This method utilizes a modified dynamic modeling-based hierarchical clustering algorithm that depends on the temporal order and sequential nature of the video to fasten the clustering process and indicates that the video summaries generated by the proposed method have a higher quality than others.

Application of Clustering Techniques for Video Summarization - An Empirical Study

An attempt has been made in this study to empirically evaluate the effectiveness of data mining techniques in video summarization to indicate that clustering based video summarizations techniques can be effectively used for generating video summaries.
