Identification and whole-genome sequencing analysis of Vibrio vulnificus strains causing pearl gentian grouper disease in China

The results of this study show that V. vulnificus EPL 0201 biotype 2 is a multi-drug resistant strain with high pathogenicity and drug resistance and had genes conferring resistance against cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, and sulfonamides.

Pathogenicity Factors of Vibrio Vulnificus: A Review

The understanding of the determinants contributing the most to the infection is extremely important when analyzing strains circulating in the country and assessing the risks of diseases in humans exposed to this pathogen.

Transition of Dephospho-DctD to the Transcriptionally Active State via Interaction with Dephospho-IIAGlc

The data demonstrate a novel regulatory pathway for V. vulnificus EPS biosynthesis and biofilm maturation in the presence of glucose, which is mediated by d-DctD2 through its transition to the transcriptionally active state by interacting with available d-IIAGlc.

Tropical Diseases of the Skin

Phylogeny and life cycle of the zoonotic pathogen Vibrio vulnificus.

A wider vision of the biology of this pathogen is given covering aspects related to its phylogeny and evolution and filling the gaps in the understanding of the general strategies that V. vulnificus uses to survive outside and inside its two main hosts, the human and the eel.

Historical and Clinical Perspective of Vibrio vulnificus Infections in Korea

From this review on historical and clinical perspective, better understanding of V. vulnificus infection would provide valuable information for public health planning.

The Vibrios: Scavengers, Symbionts, and Pathogens from the Sea

This paper reviews Vibrio ecology, metabolism, and survival, and it also discusses select vibrios—V.

Hemolysin of Vibrio Species

This chapter summarizes the functions and features of hemolysins from Vibrio species, which has been reported so far.

Draft Genome Sequences of 42 Environmental Vibrio vulnificus Strains Isolated from the Northern Gulf of Mexico

The draft genome sequences of 42 environmental V. vulnificus strains collected from the northern Gulf of Mexico are reported to allow for more robust comparisons between clinical and environmental strains.
