We present the results of a commissioning campaign to observe Galactic globular clusters for the search of microlensing events. The central 10' × 10' region of the globular cluster NGC 5024 was monitored using the 2 m Himalayan Chandra Telescope in R-band for a period of about 8 hr on 2010 March 24. Light curves were obtained for nearly 10,000 stars using a modified Differential Image Analysis technique. We identified all known variables within our field of view and revised the periods and…
A detailed census of variable stars in the globular cluster NGC 6333 (M9) from CCD differential photometry
We report CCD V and I time series photometry of the globular cluster NGC 6333 (M9). The technique of difference image analysis has been used, which enables photometric precision better than 0.05 mag
Variable stars in the globular cluster NGC 7492 , New discoveries and physical parameter determination
Aims. We have performed a photometric V,R,I CCD time-series analysis with a baseline of about eight years of the outer-halo globular cluster NGC 7492 with the aim of searching for new variables and
PHOTOMETRY OF VARIABLE STARS FROM DOME A, ANTARCTICA: RESULTS FROM THE 2010 OBSERVING SEASON
We present results from a season of observations with the Chinese Small Telescope ARray, obtained over 183 days of the 2010 Antarctic winter. We carried out high-cadence time-series aperture
Investigation of variable star candidates in the globular cluster NGC 5024 (M53)
We have performed a careful investigation of the 74 candidate variable stars presented by Safonova & Stalin. For this purpose we used our data base of imaging and light curves from Arellano Ferro et
RR Lyrae Variables in Messier 53: Near-infrared Period–Luminosity Relations and the Calibration Using Gaia Early Data Release 3
We present new near-infrared, JHK s , period–luminosity relations (PLRs) for RR Lyrae variables in the Messier 53 (M53 or NGC 5024) globular cluster. Multi-epoch JHK s observations, obtained with the

CCD photometry of variable stars in the field of the globular cluster NGC6397
The field including the central part of the globular cluster NGC 6397 was surveyed in a search for short-period variable stars. We obtained light curves for 6 close binaries, 2 SX Phe stars and 1 RR
Deep MMT* Transit Survey of the Open Cluster M37. II. Variable Stars
We have conducted a deep (15 r 23), 20 night survey for transiting planets in the intermediate-age (~550 Myr) open cluster M37 (NGC 2099) using the Megacam wide-field mosaic CCD camera on the 6.5 m
Study of Globular Cluster M53: new variables, distance, metallicity
Aims. We study the variable star content of the globular cluster M53 to compute the physical parameters of the constituting stars and the distance of the cluster. Methods. Covering two adjacent
A survey for planetary transits in the field of NGC 7789
We present results from 30 nights of observations of the open cluster NGC 7789 with the Wide Field Camera on the Isaac Newton Telescope, La Palma. From ∼900 epochs, we obtained light curves and Sloan
Variable Stars in Galactic Globular Clusters
Based on a search of the literature up to 2001 May, the number of known variable stars in Galactic globular clusters is approximately 3000. Of these, more than 2200 have known periods and the
CCD time-series photometry of the globular cluster NGC 6981: variable star census and physical parameter estimates
We present the results from 10 nights of observations of the globular cluster NGC 6981 (M72) in the V , R and I Johnson wavebands. We employed the technique of difference image analysis to perform
A PHOTOMETRIC SURVEY FOR VARIABLES AND TRANSITS IN THE FIELD OF PRAESEPE WITH THE KILODEGREE EXTREMELY LITTLE TELESCOPE
The Kilodegree Extremely Little Telescope (KELT) project is a small aperture, wide-angle search for planetary transits of solar-type stars. In this paper, we present the results of a commissioning
Space Velocities of Southern Globular Clusters. II. New Results for 10 Clusters
Absolute proper motions have been measured for 10 clusters, in addition to the sample of five clusters presented in an earlier paper. These newly measured clusters are NGC 1904 (M79), NGC 2298, NGC
A Catalog of Accurate Equatorial Coordinates for Variable Stars in Globular Clusters
ABSTRACT.We have compiled a catalog of equatorial coordinates for 3398 variable stars in those 103 globular clusters that, according to the most recent update of the Catalogue of Variable Stars in
CCD Photometry of the Globular Cluster M53. I. Color-Magnitude Data and Blue Straggler Stars
The first large-format CCD color-magnitude diagram (CMD) in the B and V passbands is presented for the Galactic globular cluster M53 (NGC 5024). The observations consist of 40 pairs of B and V CCD
