|A 1.5GHz low noise ampli er, intended for use in a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, has been implemented in a standard 0.6 m CMOS process. The ampli er provides a forward gain (S21) of 22dB with a noise gure of only 3.5dB while drawing 30mW from a 1.5V supply. To the authors' knowledge, this represents the lowest noise gure reported to date for a CMOS ampli er operating in this frequency range.
