Autoimmune anterior uveitis (AU) accounts for at least half of the cases of noninfectious uveitis, and similarly to spondyloarthritis (SpA), its occurrence is related to HLA-B27 positivity. AU is significantly more frequently found in HLA-B27–positive subjects with SpA and is characterized by unilateral eye involvement, marked tendency to recur with involvement of both eyes in alternate fashion, and has good prognosis in the majority of cases. The estimated frequency of SpA in patients with AU… Expand
Advances in the treatment of uveitis in patients with spondyloarthritis - is it the time for biologic therapy?
TLDR
A group of ophthalmologists and rheumatologists with recent and fruitful experience regarding the anti-TNF treatment of uveitis in patients with SpA are made aware of this biologic therapy and that it is the right time to use it. Expand
Analysis of the frequency of uveitis in spondyloarthritis patients and associations with clinical parameters of the disease
TLDR
Uveitis in patients with spondyloarthritis is common, predominantly in males, and more frequently in HLA-B27 positive patients, and the use of immunobiological agents such as anti-TNF is common in Patients with uveitis. Expand
The Management of Acute Anterior Uveitis Complicating Spondyloarthritis: Present and Future
TLDR
The aim of this review is to summarize the current options and to analyze the future perspectives for the management of SpA-associated AAU. Expand
The frequency of uveitis in patients with adult versus childhood spondyloarthritis
TLDR
Uveitis in adult versus child-onset SpA is similar in AS but more common in adult-onsets undifferentiated SpA, and less frequent in adult -onset PsA compared to child-on-sonic PsA, but the differences were not significant. Expand
A referable clinical pattern of spondyloarthritis-associated uveitis
TLDR
Uveitis is an important revelatory manifestation of spondyloarthritis and young men presenting in an ophthalmology department with acute anterior uveitis and inflammatory back pain should be referred to a rheumatology unit. Expand
Uveitis related factors in patients with spondyloarthritis; TReasure real life results: Uveitis related factors in patients with spondyloarthritis.
TLDR
Uveitis may be the key feature leading to SpA diagnosis, and patients with radiographic damage and long disease duration have an increased risk for uveitis in both male and female SpA patients. Expand
Case-control Study on Dactylitis, Enthesitis, and Anterior Uveitis in Spondyloarthritis Associated with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases: Role of Coexistent Psoriasis
TLDR
Dactylitis, enthesitis, and AU are significantly less frequent in IBD-SpA compared with other types of SpA, and overlooking coexistent skin disease may lead to overestimating the frequency of these features. Expand
Uveitis, the Most Faithful Partner of Axial Spondyloarthritis
TLDR
The prevalence of uveitis in a cohort of patients with axSpA was 26%, and it was significantly more frequent in patients HLA-B27 (+) and with longer disease duration and these associations were maintained in the multivariate analysis, after adjusting for other variables. Expand
Clinical Features and Prognosis of Uveitis in a Turkish Patient Population with Ankylosing Spondylitis: Incidence and Management of Ocular Complications
TLDR
Visual prognosis of AU in patients with AS was good, although more than half of the eyes developed ocular complications, and the complication rate was 0.146/eye year. Expand
SAT0352 THE FREQUENCY OF OCULAR MANIFESTATIONS IN PATIENTS WITH ADULT VS. CHILDHOOD SPONDYLOARTHRITIS
TLDR
A meta-analysis compares the frequency and type of ocular involvement in seronegative spectrum diseases in adults and children where it appears that the frequency of uveitis is not statistically different in adult vs. child onset SpA and the subsets. Expand

Enteropathic Spondyloarthritis: From Diagnosis to Treatment
TLDR
Enteropathic arthritis is a spondyloarthritis which occurs in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) and other gastrointestinal diseases and the most popular theory supposes that joint inflammation occurs in genetically predisposed subjects with bacterial gut infections. Expand

Treatment of AS patients with biologic agents directed against TNFalpha is associated with a significant decrease in the number of anterior uveitis flares, which was slightly more marked among patients treated with infliximab, but the difference was not significant. Expand
