Use of legunwseeds by brrrchid andazth-ibid beetles (Coleoptera) in a mosaic forest-saturia zone (Lamto : Ivory Coast). Seed-eating insects were sampled on 175 species of legumes over a 4 years period, in an area of Ivory Coast. Average weight of seeds vary in a range of 1 to 10000. Two-third of these seeds contain alkaloids, without any links with the weight of the seed, neither with the presence of other secondary compounds, nor with the probability to be consumed by seed-eating beetles… CONTINUE READING
