Long‐term hourly time series representing the photovoltaic (PV) generation in European countries have been obtained and made available under open license. For every country, four different PV configurations, ie, rooftop, optimum tilt, tracking, and delta have been investigated. These are shown to have a strong influence on the hourly difference between electricity demand and PV generation. To obtain PV time series, irradiance from CFSR reanalysis dataset is converted into electricity generation…
The role of photovoltaics in a sustainable European energy system under variable CO2 emissions targets, transmission capacities, and costs assumptions
PyPSA‐Eur‐Sec‐30 is an open‐source, hourly resolved, networked model of the European energy system that includes one node per country as well as electricity, heating, and transport sectors. The
Income Maximisation in a Maltese Household Photovoltaic System by Means of Output and Consumption Simulations
The installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems in the Maltese Islands plays an important role in allowing Malta to increase its share in renewable energy to meet the set European Union targets. In the
Global Climate Data Processing and Mapping of Degradation Mechanisms and Degradation Rates of PV Modules
Photovoltaic (PV) systems are the cheapest source of electricity in sunny locations and nearly all European countries. However, the fast deployment of PV systems around the world is bringing
A Proposal on Techno-Financial Design aspects of Photovoltaic System for the Twin Districts of Rajouri and Poonch (Jammu & Kashmir)
This study will help the power utilities to mitigate their energy issues, by installing a photovoltaic system based on the proposed design methodology, implemented in the twin districts of jammu & kashmir union territory.
Short-Term Hydrothermal Scheduling With Solar and Wind Farms Using Second-Order Cone Optimization With Chance-Box Constraints
A new formulation based on convex approximations, and in particular, Second-Order Cone optimization, is proposed, which addresses the nonlinear relation among water discharge, reservoir volume, and hydropower generation in a rigorous mathematical approach.
