The proportion of information that is exclusively available online is continuously increasing. Unlike physical print media, online news outlets, magazines, or blogs are not immune to retrospective modification. Even significant editing of text in online news sources can easily go unnoticed. This poses a challenge to the preservation of digital cultural heritage. It is nearly impossible for regular readers to verify whether the textual content they encounter online has at one point been modified…

Timestamping Metadata Using Blockchain: A Practical Approach
TLDR
The approach aims at extending current digital archives and systems using existing, well-tested technology and supports metadata preservation and copyright protection of digital documents applying verification without disclosure.
Difficulties of Timestamping Archived Web Pages
TLDR
It is shown that state-of-the-art services for creating trusted timestamps in blockchain-based networks do not adequately allow for timestamping of web pages, and several requirements to be fulfilled in order to produce repeatable hash values for archived web pages are introduced.
A Framework for Verifying the Fixity of Archived Web Resources
TLDR
A framework for establishing and checking the fixity on the playback of archived resources, or mementos is presented, built based on well-known web archiving standards, such as the Memento protocol.

TLDR
This research proposes a framework to establish and check €xity of archived resources, which will be built based on well-known web archiving standards, such as the Memento protocol.
Assisted Archival Fixity Verification Framework
TLDR
This research proposes two approaches, namely Atomic and Block, to establish and check €xity of archived resources, and estimates the speed at which the Atomic approach performs faster than the Block approach on verifying the ¢xality of archived pages.
Archive Assisted Archival Fixity Verification Framework
TLDR
This research proposes two approaches, namely Atomic and Block, to establish and check fixity of archived resources, which requires pushing fewer resources into archives, and it performs fixity verification faster than the Atomic approach.
Blockchain Technology for the Mutual Fund Industry
TLDR
This article demystifies blockchain concepts and demonstrates an implementation for the mutual fund (MF) industry, exploring how smart contracts can help cut the transaction processing but will blockchain provide high speed and latency necessary.
Blockchain in Cultural Heritage: Insights from Literature Review
Cultural and creative products play an important role in helping local cultural prosperity and economic development. Today, the cultural sector presents itself as an elective field of application for
On-chain vs. off-chain storage for supply- and blockchain integration
TLDR
This work examines peer-reviewed blockchain technologies according to four criteria relevant to supply chains: On-chain storage, off-chainstorage, verification cost and secure data sharing, which yields an overview of concepts for modeling supply chain processes.
Web Archiving and Digital Libraries (WADL) 2016: Highlights and Introduction to this Special Issue
TLDR
This workshop explored the integration of Web archiving and digital libraries, so the complete life cycle involved was introduced: creation/authoring, uploading/publishing in the Web (2.0), (focused) crawling, indexing, exploration, exploration (searching, browsing), archiving (of events), etc.

Decentralized Trusted Timestamping using the Crypto Currency Bitcoin
TLDR
A web-based service that uses the decentralized Bitcoin block chain to store anonymous, tamper-proof timestamps for digital content, and allows users to hash files, such as text, photos or videos, and store the created hashes in the block chain.

How to time-stamp a digital document
TLDR
Computationally practical procedures are proposed for digital time-stamping of such documents so that it is infeasible for a user either to back-date or to forward-date his document, even with the collusion of a time-Stamping service.
A Survey on Web Archiving Initiatives
TLDR
The obtained results showed that the number of web archiving initiatives significantly grew after 2003 and they are concentrated on developed countries, and the assigned resources are scarce.
