There are many resources and services in grid environment which may be distributed geographically. So, resource discovery methods with lower update and discovery costs are of vital significance. The centralized methods have the advantage of improved management of nodes, but in a grid with large number of nodes and resources, a bottleneck is caused in the server, which reduces the system efficacy significantly. Decentralized methods proposed till now are not able to discover the required… Expand

Grid Resource Discovery using Tree Data Structure for Multi-Trait Requests
Grid is an extensive environment in which different resources are dispersed geographically. A user may need a resource or a combination of resources in order to solve a problem. The task to find suchExpand

A resource discovery tree using bitmap for grids
TLDR
The experimental results show the number of visited nodes and performed operations, as a result of query forwarding, are smaller than in comparable approaches and the cost of update in the proposed algorithm is also lower, therefore, the algorithm can effectively improve the system efficiency for resource discovery. FRDT: Footprint Resource Discovery Tree for grids
TLDR
The algorithm is compared with previous algorithms using simulations and results and it is shown that the number of nodes visited in the resource discovery algorithm is less than that for other algorithms, and the difference would be significant with an increase in thenumber of nodes. Expand
Ant colony optimization inspired resource discovery in P2P Grid systems
TLDR
This paper proposes and designs a large-scale P2P Grid system which employs an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm to locate the required resources and comprehensive simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method compared with the traditional unstructured and structured approaches. Expand
Resource Discovery in a dynamical grid based on Re-routing Tables
TLDR
This paper investigates the effectiveness of a Routing Tables mechanism, called Re-routing Tables which can guarantee finding the appropriate resource in a dynamical grid environment, where resources could disconnect from the grid, and therefore get in an offline state. Expand
Peer-to-peer systems for discovering resources in a dynamic grid
TLDR
This paper presents two P2P systems based on Routing Indexes, which are used to efficiently route queries and update messages in the presence of highly variable data, and discusses the results of extensive simulation studies aimed at assessing the performance and scalability of the proposed approaches. Resource Discovery in a Dynamic Grid Environment
TLDR
This paper proposes a P2P system for indexing and discovering grid resources, and assumes that grid resources are characterized by a set of attributes, and the system can be queried for resources satisfying arbitrary range conditions on these attributes. Expand
A time-to-live based multi-resources reservation algorithm on resource discovery in Grid environment
TLDR
A time-to-live based multi-resources reservation algorithm on resource discovery in grid environment is presented, which enables the sharing, selection, and aggregation of a wide variety of geographically distributed computational resources. Expand

TLDR
Performance analysis shows that the hierarchical model is valuable for small and medium sized grids, while the super-peer model is better suited for very large grids. Expand
Grid information services for distributed resource sharing
TLDR
This work presents an information services architecture that addresses performance, security, scalability, and robustness requirements of Grid software infrastructure and has been implemented as MDS-2, which forms part of the Globus Grid toolkit and has be widely deployed and applied. Expand

TLDR
An efficient discovery framework is proposed which organizes a grid network by a semantically linked overlay representing the semantic relationships between grid participants by using a semantics-aware topology construction method to group similar nodes to form a semantic small-world. Expand
