Glass ionomer cements have been used for a variety of restorative purposes. Recently, the formulation of these and other restorative materials has changed rapidly, so it is difficult to keep pace with the literature concerning effective use. TLDR
The pretreatment of dentin with Self-Etch adhesive system, before RMGIC filling, seems to be an alternative to the conventional Dentin Conditioner for the clinicians as suggested by the results (thermocycling) and others (microtensile tests).
