Out of 158 weed species collected from rice fields of Hooghly and Midnapore districts of West Bengal, 124 possess economic importance in one way or other. The various uses of these weeds may aid dealers in crude drugs, manufacturers of plant products, or persons interested in the beneficial aspects of plants.
