Systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX) was used to develop DNA ligands (aptamers) to cholera whole toxin and staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB). Affinity selection of aptamers was accomplished by conjugating the biotoxins to tosyl-activated magnetic beads.
