Use of a miniplate for skeletal anchorage in the treatment of a severely impacted mandibular second molar.

Abstract

A 19-year-old girl presented with a severely impacted left mandibular second molar. After the surgical-orthodontic assessment, skeletal anchorage with a miniplate was adopted to keep the impacted tooth upright. The treatment went smoothly and was successful.
