Abstract A simple guide plane constructed from a presurgical impression and designed to maintain a functioning occlusal relationship can be of significant value as a post-surgical splint. Such a splint compensates for uncontrolled muscular contraction and preserves upper and lower mid-line continuity when partial or hemi-mandibulectomy with disarticulation is performed. The procedures involved in construction of a guide plane for these purposes were described.
