Adult worms develop in dogs and their eggs are shed in the feces. Non-embryonated eggs of Toxocara canis become infectious after about 2-6 weeks in the soil and the likelihood of their transmission to humans is through ingestion. In 2004 studies were carried out in the areas of urban recreation in the central region of Argentina. A total of 393 dog excrement samples were collected in eight different cities: 59.3 per cent were positive for parasites. These areas of urban recreation are…

ASSESSMENT OF THE PRESENCE OF Toxocara EGGS IN SOILS OF AN ARID AREA IN CENTRAL-WESTERN ARGENTINA
TLDR
It can be concluded that the negative results are directly related to the characteristics of the environment and climate present in the studied area.
Environmental Contamination by Dog Feces in Touristic Areas of Italy: Parasitological Aspects and Zoonotic Hazards.
TLDR
This study showed significant urban contamination of both Sassari and Alghero with dog feces and the parasites within them, including potentially zoonotic species, which should be aware of the risks and appropriate measures taken.
The State of Knowledge on Intestinal Helminths in Free-Roaming Dogs in Southern South America
TLDR
Due to the high infection levels in dogs, urban and rural dwellers are at risk of infection with zoonotic diseases transmitted by these animals, therefore a One Health approach to public health would be advisable.
Prevalence of Toxocara canis eggs in dog faeces from public places of Florence, Italy
TLDR
The results indicate a low prevalence of T. canis eggs suggesting that dog faeces left on soil are unlikely to cause high environmental contamination with T.Canis eggs in the town of Florence.
Zoonotic pathogens in urban animals: Enough research to protect the health of the urban population?
TLDR
A systematic approach was used to screen two publication databases as well as gray literature and quantified the studies conducted on zoonoses in urban animals with respect to the geographic distribution, the host animal and pathogens.
Human density, economic level and frequency of canine helminths in Buenos Aires

The results suggest that in Resistencia, human infections with Toxocara are likely to occur within the limits of housing estates more so than in public parks or open spaces.
Prevalence of Toxocara infection in schoolchildren from the Butantã region, São Paulo, Brazil.
TLDR
A significant association was observed with the presence of onychophagia, residence with a dirty backyard, living in a slum, previous wheezing episodes, school attended, and family income, all of which were considered to be determinant of a risk profile for the acquisition of Toxocara infection.
[Frequency of seropositivity to Toxocara canis in children of different socioeconomic strata].

TLDR
It is concluded that climate directly influences the rate of human enteric infection by canine hookworms and suggests other influences, such as extraneous infection promoted by the irrigation of domestic gardens and possibly endogenous reinfection of the gut by hypobiotic larvae.
Tissue Parasites in Patients with Chronic Urticaria
TLDR
It is suggested that parasitic infections should be considered as an important cause of chronic urticaria and serological methods should be used to expose the diagnosis of tissue parasites in such cases.
