The rare $K \to \pi \nu \bar{\nu}$ decay modes and the parameter $\epsilon_K$ that measures CP violation in Kaon mixing are sensitive probes of physics beyond the standard model. In this article we provide the updated standard-model prediction for the rare decay modes in detail, and summarise the status of standard-model prediction of $\epsilon_K$. We find $\text{BR}(K^+ \to \pi^+ \nu \bar \nu) = 7.73(61) \times 10^{-11}$ and $\text{BR}(K_L \to \pi^0 \nu \bar \nu) = 2.59(29) \times 10^{-11…

The Standard Model (SM) does not contain by definition any new physics (NP) contributions to any observable but contains four CKM parameters which are not predicted by this model. We point out that

Strange processes in general two Higgs doublet model

In the general two Higgs doublet model (g2HDM) that has extra Yukawa couplings, we analyze their New Physics (NP) contributions to kaon mixing parameter εK, direct CP violation parameter ε′/ε, and

Anatomy of kaon decays and prospects for lepton flavour universality violation

The kaon sector is characterised by several processes which are under active investigation across different experiments. In this work, we present the global picture that emerges from a study of the

The unitarity triangle (UT) plots played already for three decades an important role in the tests of the Standard Model (SM) and the determination of the CKM parameters. As of 2022, among the

The exclusive vision of rare K and B decays and of the quark mixing in the standard model

The most common predictions for rare K and B decay branching ratios in the Standard Model in the literature are based on the CKM elements |Vcb|\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath}

New physics in s → d semileptonic transitions: rare hyperon vs. kaon decays

We investigate the potential of rare hyperon decays to probe the short distance structure in the s → dv v ¯ $$ s\to dv\overline{v} $$ and s → dℓ + ℓ − transitions. Hyperon decays into neutrinos B 1 →

B-anomalies from flavorful U(1) $$'$$ ′ extensions, safely

Generic one-loop matching conditions for rare meson decays

Leptonic and semileptonic meson decays that proceed via flavour-changing neutral currents provide excellent probes of physics of the standard model and beyond. We present explicit results for the

Standard-Model Prediction of ε_{K} with Manifest Quark-Mixing Unitarity.

It is shown that Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity enforces a unique form of the |ΔS=2| weak effective Lagrangian in which the short-distance theory uncertainty of the imaginary part is dramatically reduced.

Charm Quark Contribution to K + ! + ¯ at Next-to-Next-to-Leading Order

We calculate the charm-quark contribution to the decay KL → μ μ in next-to-next-to-leading order of QCD. This new contribution reduces the theoretical uncertainty in the relevant parameter Pc from

It is pointed out that this mode is likely to offer the most precise determination of ${\rm Im}V^*_{ts}V_{td}$ and the Jarlskog parameter $J_{CP}$, the invariant measure of CP violation in the Standard Model.
