Marsupial brood care in Cretaceous tanaidaceans

These discoveries provide early evidence of the peracarid reproductive strategy, as seen in modern Tanaidacea, and argue that this form of parental care may have played a role in the diversification of the lineage during this period.

Distribution and ecology of the recently introduced tanaidacean crustacean Sinelobus vanhaareni Bamber, 2014 in the northern Baltic Sea

The non-indigenous tanaidacean crustacean Sinelobus vanhaareni Bamber, 2014 was first found in northern Europe in 2006 and has since spread to the northern Baltic Sea. Here, we surveyed the

Intersex in the gonochoristic crustacean Tanais dulongii (Audouin, 1826) (Peracarida: Tanaidacea: Tanaididae): a comparison of external reproductive characteristics

The present study analyses and compares external reproductive structures under scanning electron microscopy, of male and female T. dulongii to corroborate the presence of both ovisacs and genital cones in potentially intersex individuals.

Extended parental care in crustaceans: an update

Algunas poblaciones de crustaceos pueden aumentar rapidamente en numero, pudiendo ocurrir un incremento de the competencia intra-especifica por espacio, y consecuentemente, una disminucion of the actividad reproductiva y the duracion del XPC.

A New Polymorphic Species of Leptochelia (Crustacea: Tanaidacea) from Guinea Bissau, West Africa, with Comments on Genetic Variation within Leptochelia

ABSTRACT Anew species of Leptochelia, namely L. africana, is described from Guinea Bissau, West Africa, following the collection of specimens during the Laboratory of Marine Community Ecology and

Diatoms as food source indicator for some Antarctic Cumacea and Tanaidacea (Crustacea)

On the basis of qualitative and quantitative components of diatom taxa it can be concluded that the food of Diastylis mawsoni comes from the pelagial, whereas theFood of the other peracarids is of benthic origin.

Selfing in a malacostracan crustacean: why a tanaidacean but not decapods

It is shown, through microscopy and breeding experiments, that the simultaneously hermaphroditic malacostracan Apseudes sp.

Kalliapseudes schubartii (Crustacea: Tanaidacea) is a tube dwelling invertebrate living in estuarine soft bottoms with distribution along the south-east and southern Brazilian and Uruguayan coasts.

Redescription and postmarsupial development of Apseudopsis latreillii (Crustacea: Tanaidacea)

Apseudopsis latreillii is a common tanaidacean species widely-distributed in the north-east Atlantic, but its diagnostic characters remain unspecified, and study of postmarsupial development shows that the manca II is followed by two juvenile stages before reaching maturity.

Redescription of Mesokalliapseudes crassus (Menzies, 1953) (Crustacea: Tanaidacea: Kalliapseudidae): the first record of a hermaphroditic kalliapseudid

A study of type and non-type material indicates that M. crassus is a protandric hermaphrodite, and in all other aspects, except for the development of oostegites in the female phase, this species expresses no marked sexual dimorphism.
