TLDR
Flammulina velutipes fruit-body formation on the mycelium may be stimulated by the addition of basidiocarp pieces of the own or of different species as has been reported for Pleurotus Florida, and the existence of a fruit- body inducing chemical compound is likely. Expand
Untersuchungen zur Stimulation der Fruchtkörperbildung bei einemPleurotus aus Florida
TLDR
With increasing dilution of the extracts the weight of fruit bodies decreased more rapidly than the number of primordia, and a marked stimulation of sporophore weights was detectable only in fractions of lower molecular weight. Expand
The conversion of straw into feed by basidiomycetes

  • Biology, Chemistry
  • European journal of applied microbiology and biotechnology
  • 2004
TLDR
Of the fungal cultures examined, Pleurotus cornucopiae and Stropharia rugosoannulata showed the highest rate of straw decomposition and released the greatest amount of metabolic energy from the straw. Expand
Pleurotus Ostreatus — breeding potential of a new cultivated mushroom
SummaryTwo isolates of Pleurotus ostreatus from North America and one from Germany are interbreedable. Under identical conditions at low temperatures, their fruiting bodies are hard to distinguish.Expand
Influence of CO2 concentration on the mycelium growth of three pleurotus species
  • F. Zadrazil
  • Biology
  • European journal of applied microbiology and biotechnology
  • 2005
TLDR
Under semianaerobic conditions with high CO2 concentration in the gaseous phase of substratum, the competitive microorganisms are eliminated and Pleurotus mycelium can grow well in the non-sterile substratum. Expand
Search for new naturally occurring strains of Pleurotus to improve yields: Pleurotus albidus as a novel proposed species for mushroom production.
TLDR
The study of naturally occurring strains as a useful practice to improve yields of species of Pleurotus are proposed and P. albidus is proposed as a new species for commercial production. Expand
Variability of ligninolytic enzyme activities in basidiospore isolates of the fungusPleurotus ostreatus in comparison with that of protoplast-derived isolates
TLDR
Variability of production of all tested ligninolytic enzymes was substantially higher in isolates derived from basidiospores of strain F6 of the white-rot basidiomycetePleurotus ostreatus than the relatively low variability of the dikaryotic mycelial colonies of this strain. Expand
Confirmation of identity ofPleurotus abalonus withPleurotus cystidiosus by scanning electron microscopy of anamorphs
TLDR
A species ofPleurotus cultivated on a commercial scale in Taiwan described as P. abalonus is not a new species and it should be considered asP.cystidiosus, but both cultures and fruiting bodies, when compared with those of P. cystidious, were found to be identical. Expand
Differentiation in Coprinus lagopus
TLDR
A cover glass-water agar block complex placed on nutrient medium permitted nutritional control and microscopic observation of localized events in fruiting of Coprinus lagopus and eventually developed into a macroscopic fruit-body primordium. Expand

Stipe Regeneration and Fruit-body Production in Collybia velutipes (Curt.) Fr.
TLDR
By utilizing the stipes of this fungus, this work was successful in evolving a technique which decreases the time necessary for fruiting, increases the yield of fruit-bodies and involves little preparation and incubation space. Expand
