This article describes a simple method for the construction of a universal surface chemical gradient platform based on the biotin-streptavidin model. In this approach, surface chemical gradients were prepared in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), a biocompatible polymer, by a controlled hydrolysis procedure.
