We review the recent attempts of unifying inflation with quintessence. It appears natural to join the two ends in the framework of brane world cosmology. The models of quintessential inflation belong to the class of {\it non-oscillatory} models for which the mechanism of conventional reheating does not work. Reheating through gravitational particle production is inefficient and leads to the excessive production of relic gravity waves which results in the violation of nucleosynthesis constraint…

Unification of inflation and dark energy à la quintessential inflation

This pedagogical review is devoted to quintessential inflation, which refers to unification of inflation and dark energy using a single scalar field. We present a brief but concise description of the

Observational constraints on successful model of quintessential Inflation

We study quintessential inflation using a generalized exponential potential V(ϕ)∝ exp (−λ ϕn/MPln), n>1, the model admits slow-roll inflation at early times and leads to close-to-scaling behaviour in

Phase space analysis of quintessence fields trapped in a Randall–Sundrum braneworld: a refined study

In this paper, we investigate, from the perspective of dynamical systems, the evolution of a scalar field with an arbitrary potential trapped in a Randall–Sundrum's braneworld of type II. We consider

Phase space analysis of quintessence fields trapped in a Randall–Sundrum braneworld: anisotropic Bianchi I brane with a positive dark radiation term

In this paper we investigate, from the dynamical systems perspective, the evolution of a scalar field with an arbitrary potential trapped in a Randall–Sundrum's braneworld of type 2. We consider a

Quintessential kination and thermal production of gravitinos and axinos

The impact of a kination-dominated phase generated by a quintessential exponen-tial model on the thermal abundance of gravitinos and axinos is investigated. We find that their abundances become

Quintessential kination and thermal production of gravitinos and axinos

The impact of a kination-dominated phase generated by a quintessential exponen-tial model on the thermal abundance of gravitinos and axinos is investigated. We find that their abundances become

Interacting dark energy model in the brane scenario: A dynamical system analysis

The present work is a second in the series of investigations of the background dynamics in brane cosmology when dark energy is coupled to dark matter by a suitable interaction. Here, dark matter is

On the Gauss-Bonnet Gravity

We argue that propagation of gravitational field in the extra dimension is motivated by physical realization of second iteration of self interaction of gravity and it is described by the Gauss-Bonnet

Geometrothermodynamics of five dimensional black holes in Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet theory

We investigate the thermodynamic properties of 5D static and spherically symmetric black holes in (i) Einstein–Maxwell–Gauss–Bonnet theory, (ii) Einstein–Maxwell–Gauss–Bonnet theory with negative

Probing Universality Of Gravity

I wish to expound a novel perspective of probing universal character of gravity. To begin with, inclusion of zero mass particle in mechanics leads to special relativity while its interaction with a

Subtle is the Gravity

In this lecture I build up the motivation for relativity and gravitation based on general principles and common sense considerations which should fall in the sphere of appreciation of a general

Universalization as a physical guiding principle

In this essay, I wish to share a novel perspective based on the principle of universalization in arriving at the relativistic and quantum world from the classical world. I also delve on some
