Unfolding, higher spins, metaplectic groups and resolution of classical singularities

  title={Unfolding, higher spins, metaplectic groups and resolution of classical singularities},
  author={Carlo Iazeolla and Per G Sundell},
We review and extend some recent results concerning the analysis of spacetime singularities in four-dimensional higher spin gravity, summarizing how the coupling of the gravitational field to massless higher spins may provide resolution mechanisms. We elucidate such mechanisms at the level of curvature singularities and degenerate metrics in exact as well as linearized solutions to Vasiliev’s equations. As a preamble, we review the underlying higher-spin algebra and its metaplectic group…

Fronsdal fields from gauge functions in Vasiliev’s higher spin gravity

Abstract In this paper, we revisit a number of issues in Vasiliev’s theory related to gauge functions, ordering schemes, and the embedding of Fronsdal fields into master fields. First, we

Unfolding Mixed-Symmetry Fields in AdS and the BMV Conjecture. II. Oscillator Realization

Following the general formalism presented in arXiv:0812.3615 — referred to as Paper I — we derive the unfolded equations of motion for tensor fields of arbitrary shape and mass in constantly curved

On the Algebraic Structure of Higher-Spin Field Equations and New Exact Solutions

This Thesis describes in some detail the basic features of higher-spin gauge fields. After presenting some introductory material, that includes the different formulations available at the free

FRW and domain walls in higher spin gravity

A bstractWe present exact solutions to Vasiliev’s bosonic higher spin gravity equations in four dimensions with positive and negative cosmological constant that admit an interpretation in terms of

On boundary conditions and spacetime/fibre duality in Vasiliev's higher-spin gravity

This paper discusses some aspects of the Vasiliev system, beginning with a review of a recent proposal for an alternative perturbative scheme: solutions are built by means of a convenient choice of

Geometry and observables in Vasiliev’s higher spin gravity

A bstractWe provide global formulations of Vasiliev’s four-dimensional minimal bosonic higher spin gravities by identifying structure groups, soldering one-forms and classical observables. In the

On big crunch solutions in Prokushkin-Vasiliev theory

A bstractWe construct simple solutions of three-dimensional higher spin gravity interacting with matter in which only the scalar and spin-two fields are excited. They preserve Lorentz symmetry and

Metaplectic representation and ordering (in)dependence in Vasiliev’s higher spin gravity

Abstract We investigate the formulation of Vasiliev’s four-dimensional higher-spin gravity in operator form, without making reference to one specific ordering. More precisely, we make use of the
