Human serum albumin (HSA) inhibits the formation of amyloid beta-peptide (Abeta) fibrils in human plasma. However, currently it is not known how HSA affects the formation of the highly toxic soluble diffusible oligomers that occur in the initial stages of Abeta fibrillization.
