Transverse-field muon-spin rotation ($\mu$SR) experiments were performed on a single crystal sample of the non-centrosymmetric system MnSi. The observed angular dependence of the muon precession frequencies matches perfectly the one of the Mn-dipolar fields acting on the muons stopping at a 4a position of the crystallographic structure. The data provide a precise determination of the magnetic dipolar tensor. In addition, we have calculated the shape of the field distribution expected below the… Expand

On the Robustness of the MnSi Magnetic Structure Determined by Muon Spin Rotation
Muon spin rotation ( μ SR) spectra recorded for manganese silicide MnSi and interpreted in terms of a quantitative analysis constrained by symmetry arguments were recently published. The magneticExpand
Magnetic states of MnP: muon-spin rotation studies.
The analysis confirms that in MnP the low-temperature and low-pressure helimagnetic phase is characterised by an increased value of the average magnetic moment compared to the high-tem temperature ferromagnetic phase. Expand
Muon spin rotation study of type-I superconductivity: Elemental β -Sn
The application of the muon-spin rotation/relaxation ($\mu$SR) technique for studying type-I superconductivity is discussed. In the intermediate state, i.e. when a type-I superconducting sample withExpand
Muon contact hyperfine field in metals: A DFT calculation
• Physics

In positive muon spin rotation and relaxation spectroscopy it is becoming nowadays customary to take advantage of Density Functional Theory (DFT) based computational methods to aid the experimentalExpand
Observation of a Charge-Neutral Muon-Polaron Complex in Antiferromagnetic Cr2O3
We report a comprehensive muon spin rotation ($\mu$SR) study of the prototypical magnetoelectric antiferromagnet Cr$_2$O$_3$. We find the positively charged muon ($\mu^+$) occupies several distinctExpand
Determination of the zero-field magnetic structure of the helimagnet MnSi at low temperature
Below a temperature of approximately 29 K the manganese magnetic moments of the cubic binary compound MnSi order to a long-range incommensurate helical magnetic structure. Here, we quantitativelyExpand
Dual nature of magnetism in MnSi
The temperature dependence of the manganese magnetic moment and the spin-lattice relaxation rate measured by the muon spin relaxation technique in the magnetically ordered phase of the chiralExpand
Spin gap in heavy fermion compound UBe13
Heavy fermion (HF) compounds are well known for their unique properties, such as narrow bandwidths, loss of coherence in a metal, non-Fermi-liquid behaviour, unconventional superconductivity, hugeExpand
Quantum effects in muon spin spectroscopy within the stochastic self-consistent harmonic approximation
In muon spin rotation experiments the positive implanted muon vibrates with large zero point amplitude by virtue of its light mass. Quantum mechanical calculations of the host material usually treatExpand
Magnetic phase diagram of K2Cr8O16 clarified by high-pressure muon spin spectroscopy
The current study indicates the possible presence of a quantum critical point at pC2 ~ 33 kbar where the magnetic order in K2Cr8O16 is expected to be fully suppressed even at T = 0 K. Expand
