We investigate whether or not perturbative unitarity is preserved in the unHiggs model for the scattering process of heavy quarks and longitudinal gauge bosons q¯q→V+LV−L. With the Yukawa coupling given in the original formulation of the unHiggs model, the model preserves unitarity for unHiggs scaling dimensions d≤1.5. We examine the LHC phenomenology which is implied by the unHiggs model in this parameter range in detail and discuss to what extent the LHC can test d if an excess is measured in…

Some scientists take themselves and their work very seriously. However, there are plenty of cases of humour being combined with science. Here I review some examples from the broad fields of physics
Collider phenomenology of a gluino continuum
Continuum supersymmetry is a class of models in which the supersymmetric partners together with part of the standard model come from a conformal sector, broken in the IR near the TeV scale. Such
Gapped continuum Kaluza-Klein spectrum
Abstract We consider a warped five-dimensional model with an ultraviolet (UV) brane and, on top of the Standard Model isolated modes, continua of KK modes with different mass gaps for all
Quantum Critical Higgs: from AdS5 to colliders
We examine distinctive signatures of Quantum Critical Higgs models at the LHC and future higher energy colliders. In these models the Higgs boson is part of a conformal sector that is softly broken
Higgs couplings at high scales
We study the off-shell production of the Higgs boson at the LHC to probe Higgs physics at higher energy scales utilizing the process $g g \rightarrow h^{*} \rightarrow ZZ$. We focus on the energy
The Quantum Critical Higgs
The appearance of the light Higgs boson at the LHC is difficult to explain, particularly in light of naturalness arguments in quantum field theory. However light scalars can appear in condensed
Constraining the unHiggs model with LHC data
Recent measurements by the ATLAS and CMS experiments have excluded the standard model Higgs boson in the high mass region, even if it is produced with a significantly smaller cross section than
We review non-Standard Model Higgs signatures which are missed in standard analyses by both ATLAS and CMS and show how the strong bounds by recent measurements can be relaxed in strongly-interacting
The Higgs Portal from LHC to ILC
Interpretations of searches for the Higgs boson are governed by model-dependent combinations of Higgs production cross sections and Higgs branching ratios. Mixing of the Higgs doublet with a hidden

Dark Higgs models at the 7 TeV LHC
A bstractWe study how collider data and electroweak precision observables affect the parameter space of models including a new dark force mediated by a massive U(1) gauge boson. It acquires mass via
Dark side of the Higgs boson
Current limits from the Large Hadron Collider exclude a standard model-like Higgs mass above 150 GeV, by placing an upper bound on the Higgs production rate. We emphasize that, alternatively, the
Evasive Higgs boson maneuvers at the LHC.
Nonstandard decays of the Higgs boson produced at the Large Hadron Collider can lead to signatures which can easily be missed due to nonadapted trigger or search strategies. Keeping electroweak
Higgs underproduction at the LHC
We show that production of the Higgs boson through gluon-fusion may be suppressed in the presence of colored scalars. Substantial destructive interference between the top-quark diagrams and colored
Implications of LHC searches for Higgs-portal dark matter
The search for the a Standard Model Higgs boson at the LHC is reaching a critical stage as the possible mass range for the particle has become extremely narrow and some signal at a mass of about 125
LHC: Standard Higgs and hidden Higgs
Interpretations of Higgs searches critically involve production cross sections and decay probabilities for different analysis channels. Mixing effects can reduce production rates, while invisible
Autofocusing searches in jets plus missing energy
Jets plus missing transverse energy is one of the main search channels for new physics at the LHC. A major limitation lies in our understanding of QCD backgrounds. Using jet merging, we can describe
Exploring the Higgs portal
We study the Higgs portal from the Standard-Model to a hidden sector and examine which elements of the extended theory can be discovered and explored at the LHC. Our model includes two Higgs bosons
Gluon-gluon contributions to W+W− production and Higgs interference effects
In this paper we complete our re-assessment of the production of W boson pairs at the LHC, by calculating analytic results for the $ gg \to {W^{+} }{W^{-} } \to \nu {l^{+} }{l^{-} }\bar{\nu } $
Non-local Higgs actions: tree-level electroweak constraints and high-energy unitarity
We consider electroweak symmetry breaking by a certain class of non-local Higgs sectors. Extending previous studies employing the Mandelstam condition, a straight Wilson line is used to make the
