BACKGROUND Signal-averaged ECG (SAECG) reproducibility is reported to have a component that is independent of residual noise. Methods and Results-In group 1, multiple paired SAECGs were obtained to noise levels of 0.3+/-0.1 and 0.5+/-0.2 microV. For the 0.5- and 0. 3-microV noise recordings, QRS duration (QRSd) was 101.2+/-11.3 and 104.6+/-9.6 ms, respectively (P<0.0001), and the differences in paired QRSd (DeltaQRSd) were normally distributed, with variances of 11.4 and 26.2 ms(2) (P<0.0001…
Analysis of Noise Level Effects on Signal-Averaged Electrocardiograms
Noise level has critical effects on the diagnostic performance of signal-averaged electrocardiogram (SAECG), because the true starting and end points of QRS complex would be masked by the residual
Robust derivative-based method to determine filtered QRS limits in high resolution electrocardiography
TLDR
The DER method showed higher accuracy and lower sensitivity to RNL than standard ACC for QRS offset detection, compared to the standard method recommended by the American College of Cardiology (ACC).
Clinical assessment of the effect of digital filtering on the detection of ventricular late potentials.
TLDR
Filters provided significantly different numerical and diagnostic results and the BI filter showed only limited clinical application to risk stratification of ventricular arrhythmia.
Unveiling the uncertainty principle in the QRS complex offset detection on high resolution electrocardiography
TLDR
HRECG related uncertainty principle is a deterministic phenomenon associated with both HRECG signal and mathematical formulation of the terminal decay of the QRS complex to the fusion with the ST segment.
Dynamic signal quality index for electrocardiograms.
TLDR
The results indicate that dSQI provides a more accurate and continuous scalar metric for beat-by-beat ECG quality assessment, even for those with arrhythmia.

TLDR
Results suggest that SAECG is a useful noninvasive diagnostic test to evaluate dogs affected with ARVC and identify individuals at risk for cardiac-related death.
A novel LabVIEW-based multi-channel non-invasive abdominal maternal-fetal electrocardiogram signal generator.
TLDR
The design, construction, and testing of a multi-channel fetal electrocardiogram (fECG) signal generator based on LabVIEW, which enables manifestations of hypoxic states to be monitored while complying with clinical recommendations for classifications in cardiotocography (CTG) and fECG ST segment analysis (STAN).
Bias and uncertainty in heart rate variability spectral indices due to the finite ECG sampling frequency.
TLDR
The results indicate that for low sampling frequency (125 Hz), the bias and uncertainty in the HF and LF/HF indices can blur the results of the analysis, especially if the RR time series has low variability.
A multichannel nonlinear adaptive noise canceller based on generalized FLANN for fetal ECG extraction
TLDR
Simulation results reveal that the proposed ANC does enjoy higher capability to deal with nonlinearity between MECG and AECG as compared with previous ANCs in terms of fetal QRS (FQRS)-related statistics and morphology of the extracted FECG waveforms, which makes the GFLANN a good alternative for NI-FECG extraction.

Optimal filtering and quality control of the signal-averaged ECG. High-fidelity 1-minute recordings.
TLDR
The optimally filtered 64-beat SAECG achieves a performance similar to a 0.3-microV RMS noise endpoint average, and is proposed as a simple, quality-assured procedure requiring only 1 minute of data.
Comparison of Signal‐Averaged Electrocardiograms with Different Levels of Noise: Time‐Domain, Frequency‐Domain, and Spectrotemporal Analysis
TLDR
The level of noise, even within the acceptable range, can significantly affect the SAECG, and in the time domain at the lower noise levels the parameters become more abnormal, while the opposite seems to occur in the spectral and the spectrotemporal analysis.
Autonomic Effects on Noise Recorded During Signal‐Averaged Electrocardiography
TLDR
The data support the notion that enhanced sympathetic tone increases noise levels and β‐adrenergic blockade may decrease noise levels, likely due to effects from muscle sympathetic nerve activity.
Assessment of effects of autonomic stimulation and blockade on the signal-averaged electrocardiogram.
TLDR
The signal-averaged ECG does not measure only "fixed" parameters but rather is altered under a variety of physiological and pharmacologic conditions; thus, the decrease in QRS duration with tilt may be related to factors other than changes in autonomic tone.
