The goal of this section is to present Algorithm 2 in the paper, which is the basis of our analysis. This algorithm allows us to calculate the WOSM by a process of successive proposals by men. It first finds the men-optimal stable matching using the men-proposing DA algorithm (Algorithm 1 in the paper, or MPDA), and then progresses to the women-optimal stable matching through a series of divorces of matched women followed by proposals by men.
