Our work is in the field of the support systems to museum visits and access to cultural heritage. Our goal is to design a recommendation system implemented on mobile devices adaptable to the user’s profile and sensitive to its context, to improve the user experience and help build his visits to the museum based on his preferences and constraints. MOTS-CLES : systemes de recommandation, web semantique, contexte, musees.

Using Semantic Proximities to Control Contextualized Activities during Museum Visits
TLDR
This paper proposes to use semantic rules that enables a loosely-based control of learning activities by the teacher, and aims to provide learners with situated interactions, while giving teachers the opportunity to integrate learning objectives that will influence the proposed interactions.
A Nomadic Information System for Adaptive Exhibition Guidance
TLDR
The before-during-after-the-visit-support of visitors via nomadicinformation system has been designed based on evidence from the questionnaire pre-study, which showed that visitors actually use information available in or about museums before and also after avisit.

The PIL project applied at the Hecht museum extended the research results of the PEACH project and tried to address all of these considerations, including personalization, and Evaluation involving users substantiated several aspects of the design.
Semantic relations for content-based recommendations
TLDR
The Art Recommender is developed: a content-based recommender system that recommend art concepts based on user ratings of artworks, and the main challenge is to find which semantic relations are generally useful for content- based recommendations of art concepts.
Fab: content-based, collaborative recommendation
TLDR
It is explained how a hybrid system can incorporate the advantages of both methods while inheriting the disadvantages of neither, and how the particular design of the Fab architecture brings two additional benefits.
GroupLens: an open architecture for collaborative filtering of netnews
TLDR
GroupLens is a system for collaborative filtering of netnews, to help people find articles they will like in the huge stream of available articles, and protect their privacy by entering ratings under pseudonyms, without reducing the effectiveness of the score prediction.
Content-Based Recommendation Systems
TLDR
This chapter discusses content-based recommendation systems, i.e., systems that recommend an item to a user based upon a description of the item and a profile of the user's interests, which are used in a variety of domains ranging from recommending web pages, news articles, restaurants, television programs, and items for sale.
