OBJECTIVE The aims of this study were to develop a nomogram of umbilical cord diameter (UCD) for pathologic examination of the placenta, to identify the umbilical cord components responsible for variations in UCD, and to examine the relationship between UCD and other placental pathologic features and perinatal outcome.
