An ultrastructural study employing scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was conducted on the myxosporean , Myxidium serotinum Kudo and Sprague, 1940. Trophozoites of M. serotinum were recovered from the gal bladder of 1 of 3 Texas toads, Bufo speciosus Girard, 1854, from Llano County, Texas. SEM observations on the spore of M. serotinum are reported for the first time. Comparisons are made with other Myxidium spp. from Old and New World amphibians.
