Ultrastructural changes after desiccation and rehydration of the anabiotic fourth-stage juveniles of the plant parasitic nematode Ditylenchus dipsaci (Kuhn) Filipjev are described and quantified. Anabiotic juveniles retain their structural integrity, although the cuticle decreases in thickness and the muscle cell sarcoplasm condenses.
