Ultrasonography in hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal surgery.

The use of ultrasonography has been a relatively recent development in abdominal surgery. It is used in vascular and renal surgery, but some of the more exciting and widely applicable developments in operative ultrasonography have occurred in hepatic, biliary and pancreatic surgery.
