Ultrasonic tissue characterization of atheromatous plaques using a high resolution real time scanner.

Abstract

Atheromatous plaques obtained at autopsies and surgical carotid endarterectomy specimens were scanned in a water bath with an 8 MHz high resolution real time instrument.
