We mathematically model Ignacio Matte Blanco’s principles of symmetric and asymmetric being through use of an ultrametric topology. We use for this the highly regarded 1975 book of this Chilean psychiatrist and pyschoanalyst (born 1908, died 1995). Such an ultrametric model corresponds to hierarchical clustering in the empirical data, e.g. text. We show how an ultrametric topology can be used as a mathematical model for the structure of the logic that reflects or expresses Matte Blanco’s…

Mathematical Representations of Matte Blanco’s Bi- Logic, based on Metric Space and Ultrametric or Hierarchical Topology: Towards Practical Application

TLDR
The Chilean psychoanalyst Ignacio Matte Blanco developed theories of subconscious processes and their relationship with conscious reasoning using mathematical perspectives, which are closely aligned with the mathematics underpinning data analytics.

Pattern Recognition of Subconscious Underpinnings of Cognition using Ultrametric Topological Mapping of Thinking and Memory

TLDR
The author develops an algorithm for finding local ultrametricity in such data and applies that in two case studies, which are selective in regard to names of people and objects, and are focused in order to highlight the principle of his approach, which is one of particular pattern finding in textual data.

The Operationalization of the unconscious from Matte Blanco's bi-logic to computation

TLDR
In this study the fundamentals of Ignacio Matte Blanco's concepts are identified and re-elaborated in a more formal way, with the aim of developing an operational and dynamic functional structure that evolves over time and that includes the affective value of objects.

Cognitive processes of the brain: An ultrametric model of information dynamics in unconsciousness

We discuss differences in mathematical representations of the physical and mental worlds. Following Aristotle, we present the mental space as discrete, hierarchic, and totally disconnected

Towards Ultrametric Modeling of Unconscious Creativity

TLDR
The authors apply the p-adic modeling of brain's creativity and its ability to create abstract images to demonstrate the ability of the "p-adic brain" to process adequately the objects of the physical Euclidean space in the p -adic tree representation.

Formal foundations for the origins of human consciousness

In the framework of p-adic analysis (the simplest version of analysis on trees in which hierarchic structures are presented through ultrametric distance) applied to formalize psychic phenomena, we

Infinite Singletons and the Logic of Freudian Theory

The aim of this paper is to advance a formal description of the implicit logic grounding of the psychoanalytic theory. We therefore propose a new interpretation of the logical features of the

Pattern recognition in mental processes: Determining vestiges of the subconscious through ultrametric component analysis

TLDR
This work aims at a major new application, namely quantifying and interpreting vestiges of the subconscious, or what could be arising from subconscious processes, in narrative, through finding emotional content, metaphor and other potential expressions of the psyche as defined by the psychoanalyst, Matte Blanco.

Ultrametric model of mind, II: Application to text content analysis

TLDR
This work uses coherent and meaningful collections of nearly 1000 texts to show how to measure inherent ultrametricity and hypothesizes that inherent ultametricity is a basis for further exploring unconscious thought processes.

A Predicative Characterization of Quantum States and Matte Blanco's Bi-logic

TLDR
There is a correspondence between a predicative characterization of quantum states and bi-logic, proposed by the Chilean psychoanalyst I. Matte Blanco, which makes negation and logical consequence collapse in favour of different links between judgements, that are due to quantum correlations.

Indications of a possible symmetry and its breaking in a many-agent model obeying quantum statistics.

TLDR
It is shown that this (in some sense) approximate statistical supersymmetry is probably broken at low temperatures--below some condensation limit and this breaking leads to the appearance of specific coding schemes for boson and fermion histories.

Modelling of psychological behavior on the basis of ultrametric mental space: Encoding of categories by balls

In this paper we present a model of processing of mental information based on encoding by points of ultrametric space. Basic mental entities categories are encoded by ultrametric balls. Our model
