UV exposure in cars
@article{Moehrle2003UVEI, title={UV exposure in cars}, author={Matthias Moehrle and Martin Soballa and Manfred Korn}, journal={Photodermatology}, year={2003}, volume={19} }
Background: There is increasing knowledge about the hazards of solar and ultraviolet (UV) radiation to humans. Although people spend a significant time in cars, data on UV exposure during traveling are lacking. The aim of this study was to obtain basic information on personal UV exposure in cars.

- Environmental Science, PhysicsPhotochemistry and photobiology
- 2018
This study provides an overview of those studies which reported measurements of the personal UV exposure (PE) during outdoor activities of people not related to their occupation and special focus is put on the ratio of personal exposure to ambient UV radiation.

The construction of a small device incorporating a UVB (290–320 nm) sensor that can be worn on the lapel site or waistband and which is electrically coupled to a portable data logger carried in a trouser pocket or worn on a belt demonstrated that behavior outdoors can be a more dominant factor in determining personal exposure than ambient ultraviolet.
