The purpose of this article is to present several cooperative learning lessons that integrate science, reading and writing. Sample lessons involve six methods of cooperative learning drawn from four prominent developers and researchers, David Johnson, Roger Johnson, Robert Slavin and Spencer Kagan. The cooperative learning method is described first to illustrate how to use it with any topic or objective, followed by an example in science education.
