In this paper, we present a methodology based on 3D city modelling to manage a realistic energy analysis of the building stock, building per building, at a very large scale (national application for instance). This methodology is tested on the City of Ludwigsburg and its more than 14.000 buildings. The influences of the data availability and quality on the model accuracy are analysed, for both geometrical and semantical information data. This paper is concluded by exposing some technological… Expand

TLDR
A chain of steps to produce X3D city models based on transformation and integration of urban 3D CityGML models with DTM tiles, orthophotos and energy simulation outcome of energy demand and photovoltaic potential generated by the SimStadt platform are described. Expand
Rapid development of semantic 3D city models for urban energy analysis based on free and open data sources and software
TLDR
Four different methodologies for the generation of semantic 3D city models from available open data (geospatial data portals, LIDAR data, Open Street Map data, and remote sensing) are described and the tools required to achieve the task are described. Expand
URBAN ENERGY SIMULATION BASED ON 3D CITY MODELS: A SERVICE-ORIENTED APPROACH
TLDR
This paper proposes a solution based on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to offer flexible integration of modelling and computational functionality as loosely coupled distributed services for sustainable urban energy management. Expand
Multi-domain urban-scale energy modelling tools: A review
TLDR
A review of the existing USEM tools that aim at modelling the dynamic interaction among energy demand, generation and distribution in a city or district through the interaction of different sub-models is provided. Expand
SimStadt, a new workflow-driven urban energy simulation platform for CityGML city models
In this paper, we introduce new urban energy simulation platform SimStadt, which has been developed to support public authorities and engineering companies in the planning of the energy transition atExpand
Multi-scale urban data models for early-stage suitability assessment of energy conservation measures in historic urban areas
TLDR
This paper describes a method that supports decision making regarding the suitability of Energy Conservation Measures in historic districts at early stages and considers the improvement of the energy performance of buildings as a positive impact, balanced with the negative impacts that the implementation of ECMs could produce. Modeling, Monitoring, and Validating Green Roof and Green Facade Solutions with Semantic City Models Using Low Cost Sensors and Open Software Infrastructures
The usage of greenery systems as nature-based solutions to assist in urban cooling in summer time as well as urban warming in wintertime is considered a scientific validated approach in urbanExpand
CITY SCALE MODELING WITH OPENSTUDIO
Assessing the impact of energy efficiency technologies at a district or city scale is of great interest to local governments, real estate developers, utility companies, and policymakers. This paperExpand
Comparison of building modelling assumptions and methods for urban scale heat demand forecasting
Building energy evaluation tools available today are only able to effectively analyse individual buildings and usually either they require a high amount of input data or they are too imprecise inExpand
Building energy consumption modeling at urban scale: three case studies in Europe for residential buildings
TLDR
The challenge of this work is to present three different energy-use models, to compare their characteristics and to find the best features of an "optimum" model to analyze and represent energy resources, future scenarios, energy efficiency solutions and best energy policies. Expand
