Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a complicated metabolic disease characterized by impairment of both insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity. The present study was hypothesized to assess the effect of citrus flavonoids on adipose tissue PPARγ,  adiponectin and resistin. Diabetes was induced by feeding rats with high fat diet for 2 weeks followed by an intra-peritoneal injection of STZ (35 mg/kg body weight).
