Two new lignans, 9-salicyl-(+)-isolariciresinol (1) and gaultheroside G (2), together with seven known compounds, were isolated from the ethanolic extract of the whole plant of Gaultheria yunnanensis. Their structures were determined by extensive NMR and MS analyses. Gaultheroside G (2) was found to have an unusual ether linkage between the 2 and 9′ positions of aryl-tetralin lignan skeleton. All nine compounds were assayed for inhibitory effects against nitric oxide and pro-inflammatory…

New lignans, sesquiterpenes and other constituents from twigs and leaves of Rhododendron micranthum.
A phytochemical study was carried out on the twigs and leaves of R. micranthum, which afforded eight new compounds (1-8) and eight known compounds (9-16) that were rigorously determined by comprehensive HRESIMS, NMR and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) analyses.
Antiviral Triterpenes from the Twigs and Leaves of Lyonia ovalifolia.
Eleven new 9,10-seco-cycloartan triterpene glycosides (1-11), seven new lanostane tritiesides (12-18), and two new ursane triterpenoids (19-20) were isolated from the twigs and leaves of Lyonia ovalifolia and elucidated by extensive MS and NMR spectroscopic analysis.
Isopimarane and nor-diterpene glucosides from the twigs and leaves of Lyonia ovalifolia
Abstract Eight new isopimarane diterpene glucosides (1–8) and one new nor-diterpene glucoside (9) were isolated from the twigs and leaves of Lyonia ovalifolia. The structures of the new compounds
Lignans from the Aerial Parts of Lespedeza cuneata
Approximately 45 species constitute the genus Lespedeza (Leguminosae), which occurs from East Asia to North America. The members of this genus are tolerant of arid environments and consequently are
Update on naturally occurring novel arylnaphthalenes from plants
A total of 338 new arylnaphthalene compounds from over 60 families, including Acanthaceae, Phyllanth Families, Lamiaceae, Lauraceae, Schisandraceae, Berberidaceae, and Boraginaceae, have been discovered.
Salicylate and Procyanidin-Rich Stem Extracts of Gaultheria procumbens L. Inhibit Pro-Inflammatory Enzymes and Suppress Pro-Inflammatory and Pro-Oxidant Functions of Human Neutrophils Ex Vivo
The phytochemical value and biological effects in vitro and ex vivo of the stems of Gaultheria procumbens L. were evaluated and the cellular safety of AE was demonstrated by flow cytometry.
Gaultheria leucocarpa Blume Ericaceae

Gaultherins A and B, two lignans from Gaultheria yunnanensis
Abstract Two lignans, trivially named gaultherins A ( 1 ) and B ( 2 ), were isolated from the roots of Gaultheria yunnanensis (Ericaceae). Their structures were deduced as
13C NMR spectral analysis of lignans from Araucaria angustifolia
Abstract Pinoresinol dimethyl ether, secoisolariciresinol, lariciresinol, isolariciresinol and isolariciresinol-4′-methyl ether were isolated from the knots of dead trees of Araucaria angustifolia .
Gaultherin, a natural salicylate derivative from Gaultheria yunnanensis: towards a better non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
It is suggested that gaultherin did not cause gastric ulcer for the reason that it released salicylate in intestine slowly, not in stomach and it left the cyclooxygenase-1 unaffected, which was the source of cytoprotective prostaglandins in gastric epithelium.
9α-hydroxypinoresinol, 9α-hydroxymedioresinol and related lignans from Allamanda neriifolia
Abstract 9α-Hydroxypinoresinol and 9α-hydroxymedioresinol were isolated along with seven known lignans, pinoresinol, medioresinol, syringaresinol, and their glucosides, from Allamanda neriifolia.
Neolignans and a phenylpropanoid glucoside from Illicium difengpi
Abstract Six new constituents comprising three 2-phenyldihydrobenzofuranpropanol-type neolignans, two 1-phenyl-2-phenoxypropane-1,3-diols, and 4- O -(2-hydrox
